I recently discovered that Röyksopp put out a new album just several weeks ago, and I was very excited, but when I went to check out the release, it turned out to be about a thousand different remixes of "The Girl and the Robot", which is almost my least favorite Röyksopp song. I hate the vocals from the original, and the beat just doesn't touch me in any way.
Oh, well. I still think they're a really innovative group, and I'll happily await their next album. Hopefully, it'll be something closer to Melody A.M. I know everyone loves that album, but I don't care if I'm just a follower when it comes to music. If I like it, I like it. It can't be helped!

Wild Things

I can't wait to see Where the Wild Things Are in October! Maybe it's just the Arcade Fire song ("Wake Up"), but the trailer was really moving. The scene in which the little boat is being thrown around in the ocean stirred me, and, of course, I loved the book as a child.
It definitely could be the Arcade Fire music, though. I like the acoustic bit they did for the trailer, and I love the version they put out with David Bowie -- he's one of my favorite artists. When I saw the video of him singing that song, it was just impossible for me to keep myself from crying. The song is already so emotional, but it's just the perfect sort of slightly off-beat and off-key song for him.
And then there's the little upbeat Motown-type piece toward the end. I always want to dance to that.
